Labels don’t scare me.

In this ridiculous world of ours we are judged by the things we believe. It’s an unfortunate way to exist because it means that anyone who dares to think outside the box is labeled odd, crazy or even better; a conspiracy theorist.

What do you believe? Are you afraid to say it out loud because of what people might think of you? Do you know how to believe in things or are you one of the people who simply regurgitates what you’re expected to?

It used to drive me crazy that people thought I was out of my mind for saying things like, “I bet a lot of the famous works of art on display in museums aren’t even the real thing!”. In my mind it makes sense that they would have some of those brilliant forgers out there create perfect copies and display those while keeping the real thing safe.

I wasn’t saying it had to be that way, just that I was open to the possibility – there was logic behind the idea after all.

There is no point hiding the fact that I’m open to possibilities – it will come out eventually. Especially if I ever actually finish and publish one of my novels!

With that in mind – I’m going to lay it all out there, because I can.

I Believe

I believe that there is more to the world than just what we see.

I believe that the big corporations and drug companies care only about making money and design their own version of the truth.

I believe there is life on other planets.

I believe that there was more to the creation of our Universe than just a really big explosion that somehow, amazingly, became everything that we see around us. (BAM!! *oh hey look complex life forms!*)

I believe there is more to life than how big your TV is and how expensive a car you own. Contrary to popular belief you will not be ostracized if your TV is 2” smaller than all your friends.

I believe that every person makes a difference in the world.

I believe that organic food is better for us and the planet.

I believe that McDonald’s forgot a long time ago that beef comes from cows and potatoes from… potatoes. (Due to their forgetfulness they have replaced both with a combination of sawdust and preservatives.)

I believe that doing anything simply because it is cool – is unintelligent and pointless.

I believe that kids don’t read enough and should also occasionally put down the Playstation controller and go outside.

I believe that TV teaches our kids a whole load of bullshit. For example after just one modern kids show you’ll end up firmly convinced that’s it’s ok to be stupid, girls can’t be pretty AND smart and it’s normal to disrespect your parents.

I believe there are people who are born with abilities that are above and beyond the norm. (I check every once in a while juuuust in case I’ve developed super powers. You never know!)

…. to be continued.

Were you shaking your head at my apparent lunacy?

Do you honestly believe that the world is exactly how you perceive it? Are you so trapped in your own little world that you cannot even imagine anything outside of it?

If so, I say it is your loss – the world has so much more potential when you are willing to consider that there is more to it than meets the eye.

My world is fascinating, and full of possibilities. What is your world like?
