I have a dilemma. I’m really enjoying writing this story and part of me wants to keep posting it here so I get feedback and the other part acknowledges the fact that it isn’t the smartest thing if I’m hoping to make it good enough to publish one day.
What to do??

Two options come to mind:
Either create the story as multiple pages in .jpeg or any other image format and host them here, but only for a week or so. That’s what Niel Gaiman did for his online promotion. OR, and this would probably be easier, use Deviant Art and slap a creative commons on it.
I would recommend only doing a few pages/chapters, and hosting them for a limited time. But keep in mind that neither option is fool proof, and if someone is determined enough, they will steal it.
