I came across a plethora of books by writer John Locke and I chose to read this particular one for two reasons.
1. It was 99c
2. It had a witch in it.
I don’t often read westerns so I hoped the slight shift into my preferred genre would make it easier on me.
All in all, I don’t think I needed it. The book itself wasn’t completely up my alley, which is why it isn’t getting as high a rating as you think it might deserve — but it was very well written.
I think the thing that bothered me the most was the fact that you don’t seem to find out quite enough about some of the characters. I’m really going to have to look into it, and see if I can find some sequels/related books that fill out the story a bit.
This particular book focuses on the seedier underbelly of the western days, so don’t expect all fluff and happiness. His writing is catchy and rather unique – and a great plus is, if you decide that you like John Locke, he has a plethora of other ebooks priced at just 99c. Next best thing to free! (Only, in this case you’re supporting the writer!)
You can expect me to review another of his books in the future, I’m curious if his other books have the same tone or if they follow a completely new style.

P.S. This book isn’t a super long one.
