Questions to help direct my writing –

Is it the outcome or the method of getting to the end result that has the most significance?
If you achieve something good with a bad deed, have you done something evil?
If you allow something bad to happen and you could have done something to prevent it, are you to blame?
Can you truly ever be forgiven if you do not forgive yourself?

Questions help give me focus…Feel free to answer, opinions other than my own are always welcome.

And here’s one that has nothing to do with writing =P just my own boredom…
since the world curves, can you ever really walk in a straight line? >_-pulls out calculus book to give clever answer- heaven forbid that evil subject should ever have a use in my life.

  1. Well well, so this is where you have been opening up to the world! Thought you could hide from me eh? Well I found you! Hah!

Anywho, to answer your questions in order:
A1: It is often the opinion of the elderly that it is the journey which makes the story, not arriving at the destination, and all I have to say to that is… Have you ever driven through Saskatchewan??? Road trips to Alberta aside, I feel that the journey is what makes the ending rewarding, its like feeling proud after passing a test you cheated on, you didn’t earn anything (unless you are planning to follow a line of work involving cheating, where the act of successfully cheating on the test without getting caught WAS the test).

A2: Evil to accomplish good eh? tough one. very “grey area” id say. However for the sake of argument, I’d put forth that every time you compromise something you believe in, even if you are compromising for the sake of good, you lose a bit of yourself. To commit evil for a good cause is to taint the cause. Paradise on the backs of slaves, Charity supported by drug money, cursed doll sold with poisoned frogert.

Q3: You are not to blame for the action taking place. you are however guilty of being an asshole. Eg. Peter Parker isn’t responsible for Ben Parker’s death, however peter is charged with being a whinny little bitch.

Q4: Yes, but same outcome as Q3.

  2. haha yep. You sure did find me :P My hiding skills must suck these days, my excuse is that I’m a little out of practice…

:) and thanks for the imput. At least SOMEONE responds to these things. lol. Cheers. :)

  3. Is it the outcome or the method of getting to the end result that has the most significance?
I believe that the method of getting a result is about 70% significant. How are you to prove that you are “better” or more “honourable” or etc than your enemies or neighbours otherwise?

If you achieve something good with a bad deed, have you done something evil?
Depends if you did it on purpose, now doesn’t it?

If you allow something bad to happen and you could have done something to prevent it, are you to blame?
Yes you are to blame. Inaction is still taking an action.

Can you truly ever be forgiven if you do not forgive yourself?
No. But in a quest of forgiveness, you should be the last to forgive yourself.

For your non writing question, let me ask: do you know anything in natural that has a straight edge? Or appears at 90 degree angles?
