Amazon Announces a Lending Library

I had a very different post in mind when I woke up this morning, but after I did my daily check in at Amazon I figured it was more important to inform you about their new little feature.

Now, before you get tooooo excited, this new fabulous idea is only available for people with Amazon Prime. (Which you can certainly get if you wanted to…)

How it is going to work is this: If you are a Amazon Prime member, you will be able to borrow novels for free. They state you can borrow “up to one a month” which I’m assuming means… one a month. Which isn’t great – but it does increase the value of Amazon Prime. Currently it costs $79 per year to have access to a prime membership, which means if you read a bestseller a month, you are covering your costs for membership – prime also allows you to stream movies, get free shipping and so on.

If you already have a prime account, but don’t have a kindle — now is an even better time to get one! ;)

If you want to check out their Lending Library Page, just click on the link!

Some ebooks you can borrow through the Lending Library:

On a COMPLETELY not ebook related topic: I just found out that if you are a Mom or a Student, there are special Amazon account options… I had no idea!

Back the discussion at hand; what do you think of this new feature?

Just a gimmick or something worthwhile?

Let me know and I’ll see you tomorrow for a special ‘out of schedule’ post!
